With the development of 5G technology, the requirements of 4K/8K HD video wireless live broadcast is increasingly in the broadcasting industry. In order to promote the integrated development process of "cable TV + 5G", Guangdong Radio and Television Station (GDTV) cooperated with Jaguar Wave, adopted 5G mmWave wireless communication technology for 4K HD video live broadcast in the 14th Airshow China.
There are high requirements for data wireless transmission to realize 4K HD video return:
Wireless transmission speed requires 1Gbps and above;
Long-term stable transmission is necessary, anti-packet-loss, and anti-network jitter;
Low- latency, the end-to-end delay is lower than tens of milliseconds.
We use two mmWave devices to build high-speed wireless backhaul path, one is connected to front end camera, and the other one is connected to broadcasting vehicle. The 4K HD video captured by camera can be transferred to broadcasting vehicle in real time via the mmWave devices.
GDTV adopted our 5G mmWave wireless communication technology for 4K HD video live broadcast during the show successfully, with clear pictures and stable real-time transmission.
Our mmWave devices adopt 60GHz high frequency mmWave with ultra-wide bandwidth, realized high-speed wireless transmission which can up to 1.8Gbps between the show place and broadcasting vehicle where far away more than 300m.
In addition, the mmWave device is small and light, easy to install, that allows a rapid deployment in the shooting region.
5G mmWave technology gives important wireless communication technology support for a HD, fluency and stable live, which brings a great viewing experience with the first perspective for audience. Furthermore, the extremely low-latency transmission provides new low-cost solutions for application scenarios such as remote control and telemedicine, and creates conditions for the widespread implementation of these applications.
