At the present, the train data can only be downloaded through USB disk by staffs, which is inefficient and has many security risks. Jaguar Wave works with partners to customize the high-speed data wireless transmission system for freight trains, and built the mmWave wireless transmission system in Guiyang railway section for Chengdu and Xi’an Railway Administration to realize the data high-speed transmission, which avoid the risks of data tampering and data leakage.
Challenge
1. As downloading data by manual takes a long time, so an auto and high-speed data transmission mode is needed when the train stops at the platform momentary;
2. Make sure the train data security and integrity is necessary while transmission;
3. The wireless transmission device should be reliable and easy to install.
Solution
We gave the 5G mmWave high-speed transmission solution to Chengdu and Xi’an Railway Administration, to meet the needs of safe, integrity and efficient data transmission. The mmWave high-speed transmission path can be built between the train access unit which on the top of the train and the wayside base station, when the train stops at the platform, data saved in the SSD will be uploaded to the data center automatically.
Results
The train data wireless transmission problem has been solved after adopting mmWave wireless high-speed transmission solution. Auto-calibration, auto- connection and auto- upload in the whole process, the maximum transmission rate can exceed 1.7Gbps, and 10GB data can be quickly download in 1min.
Automated data transmission replaces hand operation, which can avoid some security issues such as data tampering and data leakage, safe and reliable.
The mmWave device adopts 60GHz frequency which is not interfered by other wireless bands, that makes the wireless transmission performance greatly enhanced. The device is easy to install, plug and play, 15mins to complete the deployment.
The application of mmWave in train data high-speed transmission provides technical guarantee for train data recording, storage and analysis. 5G mmWave high-speed transmission can be widely used in railway, subway, light rail and other scenarios, which provides strong support for the development of intelligent management of rail transport.
