Air travel has become the first choice for people’s long-distance travel, there’re about 300 airports in China by the end of 2021. As the important place of transportation hub, the annual average population flow of airports can up to ten millions, so public safety is particularly important. In order to deal with possible emergencies in the airport, and ensure the safety of flights and personnel, the airport emergency communication system is essential.
Due to the special environment of the airport, it’s necessary to use wireless transmission to realize emergency communication. mmWave has characteristics of high bandwidth, low latency and anti-interference. mmWave devices are easy for installation, and can transmit for kilometers, which is suitable for airports’ emergency communication link deployment. As airports’ large area, 5G signal is difficult to fully cover, so mmWave can be a great supplement for areas where 5G signal cannot be covered.
We deploy mmWave devices in these areas where 5G signal is not covered or the signal is weak to provide signal supplement. Two mmWave devices, one is connected to the 5G base station, and the other is installed on the top of the emergency communication vehicle. When the emergency communication vehicle drive to the area where 5G signal is fully covered, it communicates with 5G signal. When it travels to the mmWave signal coverage area, the mmWave device on the top of vehicle will connect with the one on the 5G base station automatically, it ensures that the communication between vehicle and command center can be fluent, while without manual operation.
