mmWave is an electromagnetic wave with a wavelength of millimeter-scale used in 5G scenarios. mmWave has characters of high bandwidth and low latency, it’s the only key technology that is capable of high-speed transmission scenarios in 5G era, such as automatic driving, telemedicine, HD real-time interaction.
The main mmWave frequency bands used in 5G communication are all in FR2 high-frequency band, therefore, the 60GHz mmWave which was included in specification by 3GPP in 2019, has become a new blank for mobile communication. Under the condition of today’s scarce spectrum resources, such a license-free resource is quite rare.60GHz mmWave supports PTP and PtMP high speed wireless communication, its actual speed is 50-100 times of existing mobile communication technology. It’s the core technology in a fully wireless communication environment and a new business model in the next 2 or 3 years, so we selected the 60GHz frequency band mmWave for strategic deployment.
In the future, 5G products will no longer be mainly based on mobile phones, but more on high-speed broadband network, extremely low-latency communication control network and massive IoT applications. Jaguar Wave will continue to invest lots of resources in mmWave technology and products, applied for HD video surveillance system, ultra-high-speed wireless network for home and office, robot control system, intelligent vehicle networking, etc.
